ABOUT JANET GARRITY
Janet Garrity resides in Beaufort, SC, where she found inspiration to create a book about the Sea Islands’ fish camps. Janet has been in love with photography since she picked up a box camera at age eight. After several instamatic cameras, while in college she bought her first 35mm camera, which she still shoots with often.
Before moving to the Lowcountry in 2008, Janet lived in Ithaca, NY, where she worked in marketing and sales for twenty-six years. She and her husband decided to “retire” to a warmer climate, somewhere with lots of water, so they set out to find their new home and found themselves in Beaufort, never looking back.
